Mitochondria, Metabolism, and Aging

Toren Finkel, MD, PhD, G. Nicholas III and Dorothy B. Beckwith Professor of Translational Medicine; professor of medicine (Division of Cardiology), School of Medicine; and director of  the University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Aging Institute, will deliver a Provost’s Inaugural Lecture, Mitochondria, Metabolism, and Aging.

The Provost’s Inaugural Lecture series invites University of Pittsburgh faculty members to give a lecture marking their recent appointments to endowed chairs. Dr. Finkel’s research focuses on mitochondrial function, cellular metabolism, oxidative stress, and aging.    

A reception with light refreshments will follow the talk.
