Ray Kurzweil may be history’s most influential writer on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Elon Musk and Peter Thiel endorse his views. But, besides predictions of Singularity and immortality, Kurzweil’s nonfiction contains bizarre erotic fantasies, including his lifelong dream to inhabit a female rockstar named Ramona. Reading these moments within Kurzweil’s corpus, this project speculates on the role of gender and sexuality in how we talk about AI.
