Mentoring Academy | Second Session

Aligning Expectations and Assessing Understanding

This is the second of four sessions in our our fall series of the Mentoring Academy. This session will provide an opportunity to discuss best practices in Aligning Expectations (Competency #3) and Assessing Understanding (Competency #4) in mentoring relationships through interactive case studies. Trained faculty, recognized for their contributions to mentoring at the University of Pittsburgh, will facilitate the session. Participants can attend one Mentoring Academy session or choose to attend all  sessions to complete all eight competencies based on the National Research Mentoring Network curriculum.

Objectives:

  • Establish, communicate, and align mutually beneficial expectations in mentoring relationships.
  • Consider how personal and professional (including disciplinary) differences may influence expectations.

Registration for workshops is mandatory which ensures distribution of pre-workshop materials and maintain accurate attendance records.

Lunch will be provided. If you have any special accommodation needs, please contact teaching@pitt.edu.

Friday, October 18 at 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
