Mark Shlomchik, MD, PhD, chair of immunology and professor pathology, School of Medicine, will deliver a Provost’s Inaugural Lecture, “Memory and Self-Tolerance in the Immune System: Implications for Vaccination and Autoimmune Diseases,” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, in Lecture Room 6, Scaife Hall.
The Provost’s Inaugural Lecture series invites University of Pittsburgh faculty members to give a lecture marking their recent appointments to endowed chairs. Dr. Shlomchik is the UPMC Professor of Immunology. His research focuses on B-cell immune response and immune system activation in systemic autoimmunity pathogenesis.
