Debating Academic Freedom: A Marcella L. Finegold Memorial Debate
The WPDU is hosting the Finegold Debate on Thursday, March 26th, from 5:30-8:30 PM in University Club Ballroom A. This year's debate will focus on the timely and critical topic of Academic Freedom. We are excited to welcome debaters from a distinguished group of institutions, including Pitt, Carnegie Mellon University, Duquesne University, Penn State, University of Nevada Las Vegas, Illinois State University, and Western Kentucky University.
The evening will feature keynote speeches by two prominent scholars in the field: Dr. Bradford Vivian from Penn State and Dr. Kevin Johnson from California State University, Long Beach. This event promises to be an engaging exploration of one of the most pressing issues facing higher education today, and we hope you will be able to join us for what should be a thought-provoking discussion. Your support of the program and attendance at this signature event would be most welcome.
The event is free and open to the public.
Hot food and beverages will be served.
