Live Webinar CLE: U.S. Supreme Court Update--Proceeding Amid a Pandemic

This is a past event.

Presented by Pitt Law Dean Amy J. Wildermuth and Ben Minegar, Jones Day

Even for times as unusual as these, the U.S. Supreme Court's term is shaping up to be a most interesting one. In addition to the usual fever-pitched anticipation as high-profile opinions are released, the legal community has experienced the first live-streamed and the Chief Justice would want to note--very carefully orchestrated arguments by conference call.

Is it better when the arguments are more structured? Are advocates and justices finding new value in the argument? And who flushed the toilet heard around the world?

This session will feature a discussion of the Supreme Court's latest opinions, its experiment with live arguments by telephones, and predictions for the opinions still to be released. Additionally, the discussion will cover what it all might mean for the "least dangerous branch."

This program has been approved for 1 hour of Substantive CLE credit. This will be a Distance Learning CLE.

Important: Last day to pre-register is June 16, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

Thursday, June 18 at 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
