Let's Talk Africa! Lecture Series: Defending Business Ethics: The Power of Ghanaian Women's Ethical Leadership in Combating Corruption and Promoting Inclusive and Democratic Business

Join us in the Global Hub for another session of the "Let's Talk Africa! Lecture Series." Dr. Jennifer Petrie-Wyman is the Assistant Director of the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership, and Adjunct Faculty for Katz Graduate School of Business & College of Business Administration.

Dr. Petrie-Wyman will present her latest work, "Defending Business Ethics: The Power of Ghanaian Women’s Leadership in Combating Corruption and Promoting Democratic Business."

Dr. Petrie-Wyman's presentation describes the power of ethics in women’s business leadership in Ghana.  While previous research concentrates on women as small business owners and the glass-ceiling challenges confronting women’s leadership development in Africa, Dr. Petrie-Wyman's research examines the important role of ethics in Ghanaian women’s leadership particularly in mid to senior level management and the ways in which the inclusion of ethics in women’s leadership combats corruption, reduces sexual discrimination, and promotes democratic workplaces.  The next steps required to strengthen ethical business leadership in Ghana and Africa are also discussed. Dr. Petrie-Wyman has been conducting research on education and leadership in Ghana since 2010.

Friday, November 1 at 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
