About this Event
Lively discussions are one of the key learning activities of face-to-face courses. This workshop will promote tips for encouraging students to have engaging, deep, and productive discussions in the discussion board utility of the online classroom. We will discuss ways to encourage depth of response and rapport among students and faculty. We'll also cover how to create discussion prompts that challenge students to demonstrate new knowledge and making connections between the course content and their individual experiences.
These workshops are just-in-time, focused discussions on a specific topic related to teaching remotely. All workshops will be conducted via Zoom, are approximately one hour in length, and all times are EST.
