Pittsburgh Contemporary Writer Series presents a joint poetry reading from two award winning poets, Layli Long Soldier and Jake Skeets. Layli Long Soldier received the 2018 PEN/Jean Stein Award, the 2018 National Book Critics Circle Award, a 2021 Academy of Arts and Letters Award for Literature, and the 2021 Michael Murphy Memorial Poetry Prize in the UK. She is the author of WHEREAS (Graywolf Press, 2017). Jake Skeets (he/him) is the author of Eyes Bottle Dark with a Mouthful of Flowers, winner of the National Poetry Series, American Book Award, Kate Tufts Discovery Award, and Whiting Award.
