Do you know what it takes to form a successful team? Team leaders and team members, as well as individuals interested in building a new team, will benefit from this three-part series.


Session 1: Team Development and Leader Actions
In Session 1 participants will learn to differentiate between work groups and work teams. Focusing on how teams evolve over time, we’ll explore how to accelerate a team’s progression to becoming a high performing team—one that is recognized by its consistently high team morale and high team productivity.

 

Session 2: Dysfunctions of a Team
Do you know what to do if your team isn’t functioning well? Session 2 enables participants to recognize the common dysfunctions that affect teams. Together, we’ll explore how to diagnose or recognize each dysfunction and the effects that each one causes. Participants will learn how to take action to fix each dysfunction, as well as how to recognize the characteristics associated with a healthy team.
 

Session 3: Effective Team Decision-making
In this session learn of the power associated with team decision-making and when team decision-making is most appropriately used. Participants will learn the essential processes that assure successful team decision-making and how team leaders can implement those process. Lastly, participants will successfully complete a team decision-making exercise to see the effects of successful team decision-making.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar series, participants will be able to:

  • articulate the difference between a group and a team;
  • describe the stages of team development;
  • identify the key components needed to make a team effective.
  • define the five common dysfunctions that typically affect teams;
  • describe how to overcome each of the team dysfunctions;
  • facilitate the development of a healthy team.
  • explain the benefits of synergistic team decision-making;
  • explain the essential processes associated with successful team decision-making; and
  • demonstrate the team decision-making process.
