Indigenous Roots of Latin America: Learn with LAGOS

Latin American culture is rich, beautiful, and diverse. It is important that while we celebrate our culture and history this month, we acknowledge the land that was first home to indigenous communities. It is also important to understand the long history of violent colonization, ethnic cleansing, and the generational trauma that persists.

Join LAGOS as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring our diverse indigenous roots. We will be hosting a series of breakout rooms during our workshop where we will explore the histories, cultures, and languages of the native peoples that are the original inhabitants of our Latin American countries. The purpose of this workshop is to better understand the histories of what is now Latin America, raise awareness to issues these indigenous groups still face, and discuss ways to support.
