This fall, students will participate in classes – face-to-face, remotely and sychronously, and online asynchronously. Revising activities typically done in the classroom and keep students engaged can be a challenge. This two-hour workshop will help you "hack" your activities. We will discuss best practices for creating effective class activities for hybrid learning. You will collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines to help you redesign or improve your acitivities. Participants should attend with an existing class activity to share and revise.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • describe best practices for creating class activities that engage face-to-face and remote learners, and how to adapt activity for online asynchronous learners.
  • examine activities to identify pedagogical and design strengths and challenges.
  • revise an activity to demonstrate research-informed pedagogy and design best practices.

All workshops will be conducted via Zoom, eastern time. Please contact workshops@teaching.pitt.edu for any questions.
