In collaboration with Pittsburgh's Green Infrastructure Network, learn about existing and future green stormwater infrastructure at Pitt from external designers alongside the University’s Planning, Facilities, Grounds, & Sustainability teams., alongside the 2021 U.S. EPA winning RainWorks Challenge student group.

The walking tour will include several locations on the Oakland campus:

  • Cathedral Lawn Reconstruction
  • Cathedral of Learning Rain Garden
  • Schenley Plaza
  • Schenley Quad
  • William Pitt Union Plaza
  • Bigelow Boulevard

The tour will meet on the CATHEDRAL OF LEARNING EAST PATIO (Next to Cathedral, Facing Heinz Chapel) to start the walking tour.

Following the walk, join GIN, Gateway Engineers, and Pitt for a "Lunch & Learn" presentation by 2021 U.S. EPA RainWorks Challenge student group (more below). REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS CLOSED.

University of Pittsburgh students were awarded Second Place in the Master Plan Category, competing with 57 student teams from across 26 states and 39 different academic institutions who submitted green infrastructure designs that address urban stormwater pollution and showcase the environmental, economic, and social benefits of green infrastructure.
