About this Event
This beginner-level workshop will introduce you to types of student assessment and the steps in the grading process. Employing the alignment model, you will also have the opportunity to evaluate an assignment prompt and practice offering effective feedback. This workshop counts towards completion of the Achievement in Pedagogy Badge.
As a result of completing this workshop, you will be able to:
• Define assessment.
• Articulate the difference between formative and summative assessment.
• Describe characteristics of effective, equitable assessment
• Explain steps in the grading process
• Create an assignment prompt which aligns with a learning objective and communicates grading criteria to students
• Provide effective feedback to students
