Going Gradeless: On Ungrading in the Academy

Please join colleagues for an introductory meeting intended to ground and facilitate a yearlong conversation on ungrading, student self-grading, and related pedagogical approaches to learning and assessment. For this first session, we ask that you please read Alfie Kohn's "Foreword" to the Susan Blum (ed) volume, Ungrading: Why Rating Students Undermines Learning (and What to Do Instead) in advance of the meeting. The Kohn Foreword can be downloaded at this link. The Blum volume can be freely accessed through the Pitt library at this link.

Thursday, September 9 at 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
