Join the Sara Fine Institute in the School of Computing and Information and the Research, Ethics and Society Initiative at the University of Pittsburgh for a discussion of generative AI in education.
As educators consider the implications of tools like Chat GPT on instructional design and student learning, this panel will explore positive uses of generative AI in teaching, fundamental literacies around generative AI for students, and issues of academic integrity.
The panel session will be in-person with the option for online attendance via Zoom. The panel session will run from 1-2:15pm.
Following the panel session from 2:15-3pm, in-person attendees will be invited to remain for informal discussion about how to connect insights from the panel event to their own teaching and learning.
Panelists will include:
Dr. Chad Hershock, Director of the Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Educational Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University
Chris Millet, AI and Academic Integrity Working Group and Director of Learning Design at Penn State University
Dr. Annette Vee, Associate Professor in the English Department at the University of Pittsburgh
