Despite the large numbers of women entering medicine and pediatrics, there continue to be large disparities in the proportion of women in leadership and further along the promotion path. Why is this the case and what can we do about it? This discussion will focus on structural issues that may inhiibit the creation of a diverse workforce and the roles we all can play in helping to achieve equity in our field.
