Summer is the perfect time to lay the groundwork for a strong research application, this workshop will show you how. Designed for first- and second-year Frederick Honors students, this one-hour session given by FHC's Office of Research will help you navigate the early stages of getting involved in research and craft a clear game plan before fall opportunities open up.

We'll cover:

  • Getting started in research — what undergraduate research looks like and how to find the right fit for you
  • Finding a mentor and project — practical strategies for identifying faculty, reaching out, and making a compelling case for yourself
  • Your summer game plan — concrete steps you can take now to build a standout application for fall research fellowships and Martinson Applied Projects

Whether you're starting from scratch or just need a clearer direction, you'll leave with the confidence and tools to make the most of your summer and hit the ground running in the fall.
