All faculty and staff, as well as their dependents, are encouraged to obtain a flu shot to help you stay healthy throughout the winter months. In particular, faculty and staff who work in health sciences, or have any type of exposure to patients, should consider the vaccination. Due to COVID-19, flu shot clinics for fall 2020 on the Pittsburgh campus and regional campuses are only offered on limited times and dates.

For more information about flu shot clinics, please visit the Office of Human Resources website.

General Information & Registration

Advance registration is required to attend a flu shot clinic on the Pittsburgh campus. The registration form allows you to select a date and timeslot for your appointment.

Please note: While the registration form states the location as Falk Pharmacy, the location of the clinic is the Petersen Events Center.

All COVID-19 safety protocol will be in effect; all individuals are required to wear a mask and observe physical distancing guidelines. If you are feeling ill on the day of your appointment, please do not attend the flu shot clinic.

If you are currently working off-campus and are planning to travel to campus for the flu shot clinic, you are required to fill out the Daily COVID-19 Health Check prior to coming to campus on the day of your appointment. The Daily COVID-19 Health Check is also available when logging in to my.pitt.edu or from the Pitt Mobile app.

On the day of your scheduled appointment, please enter the Petersen Events Center from either the Main Lobby entrance or at Concourse Level Entrance B. You will be directed to a registration table to check in and you will have your temperature taken using a handheld infrared thermometer (thermal scanners will not be in use). After checking in, you will be directed to a waiting area for the available flu shot stations.

Off-Site/Off-Campus Flu Shots

Those with UPMC Health Plan coverage can receive a flu shot at no cost, as well as receive Wellness Incentive credit for having it done. If you would prefer to obtain your flu shot clinic off-campus, UPMC Health Plan members may do so from a participating provider at no out-of-pocket cost. Members also may obtain a flu shot with no out-of-pocket cost at Giant Eagle or Rite Aid pharmacies. Simply present your UPMC Health Plan member ID card at the time you receive your flu shot and you will not have to submit a receipt or any other additional paperwork to UPMC Health Plan.
