The University of Pittsburgh will mark National First-Generation College Celebration Day with three events throughout the day.

New Student Programs Open House for Provost Academy Students

Happy National First-Gen Day, Provost Academy students!  

On Tuesday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., stop by the Office of New Student Programs on the ninth floor of the William Pitt Union for snacks and first-gen swag and resources. No registration required!

This event is open to Provost Academy students.
 

Student Success Hub Grand Opening
3 p.m.-6 p.m.
Langley Hall, Room 217

Join the Office of the Provost – Student Success team for the grand opening of the Student Success Hub, a new space at 217 Langley Hall, where students can find academic resources, referrals, programming, advising, and mentoring.

On Tuesday, November 8, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., students, faculty, and staff can learn more about the Hub space, meet our team, grab snacks, and get some swag.

Are you first-gen? We will have some special swag for you, too!

First-Generation College Celebration Day Panel Discussion

In honor of National First-Generation College Celebration Day on Tuesday, November 8, please join us for Pitt’s First-Gen Day motivational panel discussion from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Alumni Hall Connelly Ballroom. Partake in hors d’oeuvres from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and hear from first-generation college faculty, staff, and alumni from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Register now to secure your seat by October 25 as this event is open to all University of Pittsburgh first-generation students. The first 100 students to register receive a complimentary first-gen T-shirt! This event is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Office of New Student Programs.
