About this Event
3700 O'Hara Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15261
http://pi.tt/firstgen1124Join the Engineering Office of Diversity for its annual First-Generation College Student Celebration in honor of our first-generation students, faculty, and staff. First-generation engineering students face unique challenges as they navigate unfamiliar academic environments while balancing personal, financial, and social pressures. Despite these obstacles, their resilience and diverse perspectives enrich the field of engineering.
This session will facilitate an open discussion, engaging the audience in understanding the lived experiences of first-generation students at the University of Pittsburgh and Swanson School of Engineering. This year features our very own Dr. Robert Kerestes, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering.
Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to: http://pi.tt/firstgen1124
