Creating Accessible Courses for Remote Learning

This is a past event.

Digital accessibility can be intimidating. We all want students to freely, independently, and easily access course materials. We are challenged how to make that happen. With the move to remote learning, the need for accessible course materials and the demand on time and resources have increased. In this session we will explore principles of accessibility and how they impact people with disabilities in remote learning environments. We will also consider practical solutions that you can use to begin reducing barriers in your courses

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key concepts in digital accessibility
  • Recognize the barriers inaccessible content creates for students in remote learning environments
  • Implement practical solutions to accessibility barriers in their courses
  • Find motivation to create a more accessible classroom

Please register to attend by midnight, Wednesday, May 27. We are unable to accept same-day registrations at this time.

All workshops and events are conducted via Zoom, are approximately one hour in length, and all times are Eastern Time.

Please contact workshops@teaching.pitt.edu for any questions.

Dial-In Information

Please register to attend. You will receive an email with a Zoom meeting link prior to the virtual workshop.

Wednesday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
