This webinar is an introduction to health equity and how it applies to public health initiatives and strategies in both the public and private sector. Participants will review health disparities/inequities and how race, culture, and identity are important to equitable health solutions. Participants will also discuss how to identify root causes of health inequities. This webinar includes a variety of instructional methods including group discussion and interactive learning activities. Active participation is encouraged to create an engaging learning experience for all.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • define terms related to racism, diversity, and inclusion;
  • identify root causes of health disparities/inequities; and
  • describe how systems of oppression work and how they impact health outcomes.
