James G. Herman, MD, UPMC Professor of Lung Cancer and professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, will deliver a Provost’s Inaugural Lecture, “Epigenetic Changes in Cancer: From Discovery to Transforming Patient Care,” at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in Lecture Room 6, Scaife Hall.

The Provost’s Inaugural Lecture series invites University of Pittsburgh faculty members to give a lecture marking their recent appointments to endowed chairs. Dr. Herman’s research focuses on understanding the molecular changes that drive lung cancer and on enabling prevention, early detection, and targeted therapies for lung cancer.   

A reception with light refreshments will follow the talk.
