Epi Seminar - Richard Holubkov

This is a past event.

Life as a Clinical Trialist, by the Three Rivers and the Great Salt Lake
Richard Holubkov, PhD
Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine

Rich Holubkov first worked at the EDC from 1986 to 1990 after receiving a Masters’ degree from Carnegie-Mellon University.  After his experience with the NHLBI PTCA Registries and the BARI randomized trial, he obtained a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Washington in 1995 and returned to the EDC as a faculty member, contributing to studies including the BARI 2D trial and the Artificial Valve Endocarditis Reduction Trial.  Dr. Holubkov has been at the University of Utah School of Medicine since 2002. He is a Professor based in large Data Coordinating Center in the Department of Pediatrics, and PI for several randomized trials and cohort studies. In a large part because of his early training with Katherine Detre and others at the EDC, Dr. Holubkov is expert in the “fundamental principles” of the design, management, and interpretation of randomized multicenter interventional trials.  He serves on several government and industry DSMBs as well as on the FDA’s Pediatric Advisory Committee.

Medical Professionals receive CME credit by texting TALVUR to 412-312-4424 during the seminar. Course Attendance is recorded through zoom for both students and GSR’s. Students and GSR’s attending in person should swipe their Panther ID at the bottom entrance to G23 to register their attendance. Students should come prepared with engaging questions for the presenters. Students not registered for the course, postdocs,& faculty are welcome to participate.
