Huiman Barnhart graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992 with a PhD in Statistics under the direction of Dr. Alan Sampson who was a longtime collaborator in the Epidemiology Data Center at Pitt.  During her graduate study, she worked on the Bypass Angioplasty Revascularization Investigation (BARI) trial as a graduate student researcher at the EDC.

Dr. Barnhart is currently a professor and an associate chair for faculty mentorship and development in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University. She is also a primary member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute. She is a fellow of American Statistical Association for her fundamental and influential contributions in assessment of agreement and reliability, outstanding leadership and effectiveness in conducting clinical trials and cohort studies, and leadership and dedication to the education and mentoring of the next generation of biostatisticians. She is currently the principal investigator for two data coordinating centers funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Students and GSR’s attending in person should swipe their Panther ID at the bottom entrance to G23 to register their attendance. Students should come prepared with engaging questions for the presenters. Students not registered for the course, postdocs, & faculty are welcome to participate.
