Effective teaching involves practice and reflection (Lovette, et al, 2023), and even with our best intentions, we will frequently offer space for practice but little space for reflection. During this session, we will contemplatively reflect on the past spring term and overall academic year, considering our teaching successes and challenges. We will also consider broader aspects that affect our teaching, including ecological factors at the institutional level and our overall well-being. There will be time for individual contemplation, one-on-one feedback, and collectively sharing resources to support our next steps for future terms.

By the end of this workshop, individuals will:

  • Identify individual strengths and reflect on teaching challenges faced over the past spring term.
  • Receive and offer feedback.
  • Collectively generate a list of resources and strategies to utilize for future terms.
