Dr. Diana Leyva, from Psychology, will be discussing Capitalizing on Latino families' strenghts to foster children's learning. The brief article for discussion is "How getting kids to make grocery lists and set the table can improve their vocabulary and willingness to learn."
Sponsored by the Center for Latin American Studies in collaboration with the Center for Health Equity (CHE), these forums explore problems faced by small yet rapidly growing Latino communities. Solutions are discussed and research collaborations are encouraged. Networking time is built in 30-minutes prior and 30-minutes after the meeting.
