About this Event
Sponsored by SHRS and University Counseling Center
Through visual exploration of Stonewall Riot photos, participants will explore LGBTQIA+ PRIDE month’s history and connection with intersectional social justice movements particularly for racial justice. The SHRS community is invited to learn about and reflect on Stonewall and further activism through small group discussion and reflection.
Guest speaker Alicyn Simpson, Community Navigator, Gender and Sexual Development Program at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh shares navigating her own personal journey. In addition to health care implications, participants takeaway a basic understanding of Stonewall’s significance. Counseling resources for campus are also provided during and as the webinar concludes. This event is open to the SHRS community, friends of SHRS and allies.
