Sebastian Cuellar Sarmiento will defend his dissertation titled "Becoming activists of meaning: resisting violence and enforced disappearance in Colombia."  His committee consists of Mohammed Bamyeh (chair), John Markoff, Jackie Smith, and Lara Putnam.
