Developing a Lesson Plan

This is a past event.

Whether it’s scribbled on the back of a napkin or filed in a formal record of course instruction, planning ahead for a class session makes for a more effective class. A detailed description of instructional activities for each class provides a roadmap for the instructor and structure for the students. It can also help you determine how well class goals have been met.

Objectives: By the end of this workshop, students will be able to:

  • Identify the major components of a lesson plan
  • Develop a lesson plan based on their own course’s learning objectives

This workshop may be counted toward the Pedagogy cluster of the Achievement in Pedagogy badge, offered through the Graduate Student Teaching Initiative. For more information, visit the Teaching Center's website or contact tahelp@pitt.edu.

Registration for University Center for Teaching and Learning workshops is mandatory. Registering for workshops ensures the distribution of pre-workshop materials and helps maintain the integrity of our attendance records.

Thursday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Alumni Hall, 815
