Hosted by the Humanities Center and featuring faculty fellow, Anna Kovalova.

The Daydreams Database of pre-Soviet cinema Kovalova is currently editing is the first scholarly database of feature films produced in the Russian Empire and films shot in its former territories in the first years after the October Revolution. Daydreams contains the most complete filmographies, synopses, and iconographic materials (such as promotional stills, posters, and frame enlargements) for more than 2,500 films with over 6,500 images and more than 200 film librettos. Although the project has significant scholarly value in its current form, it needs to be developed further and improved. Above all, the database would benefit significantly from being introduced to a broader community of scholars through our colloquium.

Respondents include Scott Andrew from Studio Arts and Neepa Majumdar from English. This event will be hybrid, so you can attend it either in person in 602 CL or via Zoom as you prefer. Precirculated material for this colloquium are available here.
