Through the generosity of the Office of the Provost and the Year of Data and Society, any Pitt staff and faculty are welcome to attend a first of its kind event on campus. This first of its kind event is focused on bringing together data newcomers from across campus and across disciplines to learn about technologies, tools, hear from experts in the field, and network to build connections with each other. Demonstrations from Pitt IT on currently existing tools and resources, such as the data visualization software Tableau will be part of the day. 

The keynote address will be by Dr. Amelia Parnell, Vice President for Research and Policy at NASPA, and will focus on her new book You are a Data Person.

Tentative schedule 9:30 am – 4pm, registration is free and includes lunch. The full day will be in-person on campus with selected sessions available for remove viewing. 


Pitt staff, don’t forget that you are eligible to use one day per month on attendance at professional development events.
