R is a free, open-source software environment for statistical analysis as well as cleaning, manipulating, and visualizing quantitative data. ggplot2 is a community-authored package for R that enables the user to easily visualize data. In this online, hands-on workshop, we’ll focus on how to visualize data using ggplot2 in order to make plots for presentations and publications. Topics include:

  • The “grammar of graphics” concept
  • Histograms and density plots
  • Bar plots, scatterplots, box plots, and violin plots
  • Error bars
  • Common mistakes for ggplot2 users
