Creating Psychological Safety at Work: Supervisor Support Chats

How can we help to make our employees feel safer and more comfortable at work, including while working remotely? The ability of an employee to voice questions, concerns, and ideas is a key element of healthy workplace culture, as well as overall team productivity. In this chat, Lebel shares with supervisors his research focusing on proactive behaviors at work, including speaking up, innovation, and taking initiative. He shares how perceptions of work context and negative emotions (fear, anger) influence whether employees speak up or are proactive.

Panelist: David Lebel, Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business
Moderator: Laura Ainsley, Organization Development
