Announcing the Creativity in Medical Humanities Conference on April 1 from 9 am to 7 pm at the LLC/PPAC in order that you, your students, and your associates can plan ahead for this educational event.
Currently there are 35 interdisciplinary panels and 30 posters delivered by over 90 faculty/professionals and 45 students. Between 9:00 am and 2:00 we will host well over 100 area secondary school students eager to experience a college-level, academic conference. All events will be in the Living Learning Center until between 4 and 5 pm at which time we will move to the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center to host the “Arts for Healing” display along with three keynote speakers: 4:00 pm Mathew Masiello, MD (World Health Organization) speaking on climate change and related health issues; 5:00 pm Maestro James Lachley (Johnstown Symphony Orchestra) on music’s affect on healing, and 6:00 pm Joseph Maroon, MD (UPMC neurosurgeon of the Pittsburgh Steelers, author, and researcher) on his remarkable story about resiliency and overall health.
