Creating Instructional Multimedia: Adobe Captivate

Participants will get the most out of this workshop if they already have intermediate familiarity computers. If you are unsure about whether Captivate is the right solution for you needs, we recommend first taking the Creating Instructional Multimedia: Introduction workshop.

Adobe Captivate is available for departmental purchase for $50 through CSSD software services . With Captivate, anyone can create rich, interactive multimedia e-learning modules. You can present animation, video and audio, give quizzes and assessments, and create lessons that branch based on learner input and performance. This workshop will introduce Storyline’s capabilities, present examples, and cover basic workflows for getting started.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

-Create a basic Captivate presentation with two branches
-Create quiz questions embedded into a presentation
- Identify more advanced capabilities of Captivate and know where and how to receive further instruction in their use
-Produce a SCORM package and upload it into Blackboard

Registration for University Center for Teaching and Learning workshops is mandatory. Registering for workshops ensures the distribution of pre-workshop materials and helps maintain the integrity of our attendance records.

If you have any special accommodation needs, please contact us at workshops@teaching.pitt.edu in advance.
