Abstract: This presentation will define conscientious objection and address a key ethical issue: whether to accommodate health professionals who refuse to provide a medical service for reasons of conscience. Reasons for and against accommodation will be considered, and an ethical framework will be offered for deciding whether requests for accommodation should be granted.
Continuing medical education credit will be available.
The Center’s Healthcare and Religion Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the Palliative and Supportive Institute, the Department of Religious Studies, and the Jewish Studies Program
