Virtual Book Club: “Authors and Anecdotes”

Our virtual book club series, “Authors and Anecdotes”, kicks off with our featured author of the week, Dr. Kathleen George, Professor, Department of Theater Arts, and two of her novels, The Blues Walked In and The Johnstown Girls.

Click here to be directed to the University of Pittsburgh Press website to learn more about The Blues Walked In, and here for more information about The Johnstown Girls.  Purchasing options for both books are available on these sites, and they can also be purchased at any independent bookstore of your choice.  (While we encourage you to read the novels ahead of time it is not a requirement to participate in the series.)

Join us as we not only discuss her novels, but also dive into George’s personal literature collection, her summer reading suggestions, and participate in a live Q&A!

About the author:  In addition to The Blues Walked In and The Johnstown Girls, Kathleen George has also written seven mysteries set in Pittsburgh: A Measure of Blood, Simple, The Odds, which was nominated for the Edgar® Award from the Mystery Writers of America, Hideout, Afterimage, Fallen, and Taken. George is also the author of the short story collection The Man in the Buick and editor of another collection, Pittsburgh Noir.
