About this Event
This is a Year of Data and Society event.
Redistricting is the process by which the boundaries of elective districts are periodically redrawn to align representation with population. In this session, Mark McKillop will describe how Census data and other data sources are used in the reapportionment (redistribution of seats) process at both the state and federal level of government.
Mark McKillop is the Executive Director of PASR (Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees), an Association that represents Pennsylvania retired Public School Employees. For 35 years, he worked in the Senate of Pennsylvania, with his last responsibility being the 2011-2012 State Senate Redistricting and 2011 Pennsylvania Congressional Reapportionment.
