Please join us for Critical Care Medicine Grand Rounds on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at noon in S120 BST and on Teams Webinar.
Dr. Jacqueline M. Kruser is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. She is a pulmonary and critical care physician and primarily practices in the adult medical intensive care unit at the UW Health University Hospital. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, followed by fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine and a Master’s degree in Health Services and Outcomes Research at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Jacky leads a research group that has been supported by the NIH, the Francis Family Foundation, and the Wisconsin Partnership Program. Her group uses cross-disciplinary methods from medical social sciences, health services research, and systems and human factors engineering to improve the complex ICU system and its care delivery processes. Dr. Kruser’s research aims to refocus this system, which is currently designed around technology and intervention, to one that is human-centered and prioritizes the needs of patients with critical illness, their families, and the professionals who care for them. Her current projects are focusing on the role of time-limited trials as a collaborative planning approach for patients with critical illness.
Presenting: "Promise and Reality of Time-Limited trials in Clinical Care: Can they both navigate uncertainty and disrupt clinical momentum"
