Introduction and Perspectives on Open Science
“Open science” is an umbrella term that refers to a range of practices designed to increase transparency, reduce “researcher degrees of freedom,” and improve the robustness and credibility of the scientific literature. This talk will provide a bird’s eye view of the rapidly evolving open science landscape, and an introduction to converging and diverging perspectives on preregistration, data sharing, preprints, open review, social media, and publication platforms. Questions, discussion, and participation from attendees with a range and diversity of experiences is encouraged.
