About this Event
This workshop explores a culturally responsive approach to community-engaged teaching, one that centers equity, reciprocity, and shared knowledge creation. Participants will examine how their teaching practices can align with community-defined priorities and foster mutually beneficial partnerships. Through reflection, dialogue, and collaborative activities, we will consider how cultural responsiveness shapes partnership development, course design, and the distribution of power among faculty, students, and community partners. Participants will engage with four core components: Self-Reflection, Asset-Based Perspectives, Relationship Building, and Critical Consciousness.
This workshop is co-facilitated by Office of Engagement and Community Affairs and The University Center for Teaching and Learning.
