This webinar will introduce Blackboard for those who provide administrative support to Pitt faculty. We will address the most common issues brought to us by support staff as well as present the big picture of how Blackboard and other academic technologies fit into the overall information technology landscape at Pitt. You will learn how to help instructors more effectively manage their courses, as well as who to call when there are problems. No previous experience with Blackboard is required. This webinar will be held fully online and you will receive access instructions prior to the session.

By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Explain how Blackboard course shells are created and populated with students, instructors and TAs;
  • Copy courses from previous semesters to the current semester
  • Upload, edit, delete, and organize content
  • Create test items, use online Blackboard test generators to go from a Word document to a Blackboard test, and re-use test items from previous tests, pools, and courses
  • Troubleshoot common Grade Center problems such as missing columns, and miscalculating totals
