Better Grading and Feedback with Gradescope

Gradescope is a system to help you grade and return assignments in less time. Gradescope will help you organize and grade hand-written assignments, or other "respond in the given space" type questions by either scanning paper submissions or accepting them directly from students. With Gradescope, you build a rubric while you grade for consistent grading and easy regrading. This workshop is an introduction to Gradescope and no prior experience is necessary. Previously available only to the School of Engineering and Department of Mathematics, Gradescope is now available to everyone at the University of Pittsburgh.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify which assignment types Gradescope is appropriate.
  • Create a course and synchronize your roster with the LMS.
  • Build an assignment and a rubric in Gradescope.
  • Understand the answer groups and AI-assisted grading features.
  • Manage regrade requests.
  • Locate your assignment statistics.

Registration for workshops is mandatory which ensures distribution of pre-workshop materials and accurate attendance records.

Please contact teaching@pitt.edu for any special accommodation needs.
