"Authors and Anecdotes" Book Club: Featuring Patricia DeMarco

Join this week's featured author, Patricia DeMarco, in our virtual book club series, “Authors and Anecdotes”, as she discusses her book, Pathways to our Sustainable Future.  Pittsburgh has a rich history of social consciousness in calls for justice and equity. Today, the movement for more sustainable practices is rising in Pittsburgh.  The book discusses how the city is addressing the issues of climate change and global pollution. The solutions are not necessarily found in technology alone. Rather, the pathways forward are based on the ethical and moral basis for making choices about the future.

About the authorPatricia M. DeMarco is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. with a doctorate in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh. She has spent a thirty -year career in energy and environmental policy in both private and public sector positions.  She is a Rachel Carson Scholar and served as  Executive Director of the Rachel Carson Homestead Association and Director of the Rachel Carson Institute at Chatham University. She holds the office of Vice President of the Forest Hills Borough Council. She sits as Secretary on the Board of Trustees for Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
