Teaching Non-Major Students: Challenges and Possibilities

In this virtual, pre-Assessment and Teaching Conference session, attendees will brainstorm solutions to challenges faced when instructing students outside (and within) their discipline or course subject area, including working with students with diverse backgrounds and different levels of motivation, engagement, familiarity with the discipline, and perceptions of the course's relevance. Attendees will have the opportunity to collaboratively workshop a new or revised interdisciplinary activity or authentic assessment for their course that considers students from various backgrounds.
