Join the Office for Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion for a workshop on challenging antisemitism. This two-hour, in-person session is focused on understanding the roots of antisemitism and responding in ways that support students, faculty, staff and members of the community.
This workshop will be presented by Sara Coodin, director of academic affairs for the American Jewish Committee, and Laura Shaw-Frank, director of AJC's William Petschek Contemporary Jewish Life Department.
This training is designed to help faculty and staff — especially those who work in equity, diversity and inclusion — understand antisemitism, support our Jewish community, and respond to microaggressions and larger bias incidents at the University and in the surrounding Pittsburgh community.
Foundational knowledge will include topic areas such as Jews and Judaism; Antisemitism; and Geopolitics in the Middle East.
Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP. There is no cost for this workshop.
Please let us know if you require an accommodation in order to participate in this event. Accommodations may include live captioning, ASL interpreters, and/or captioned media and accessible documents from recorded events. At least 5 days in advance is recommended.
