The last ten years have seen enormous advances in AI technologies. This progress has made AI an attractive tool to many, and has resulted in its swift adoption across a range of fields and disciplines. But while AI represents powerful potential, it also brings with it the risk of real harm. As information professionals, library workers have a responsibility to equip themselves with knowledge about this technology and the implications of its widespread use.

Public and academic library and archives workers, community data workers, and students are invited to join us for this interactive workshop to discuss the use of AI in their institutions, assess the risks AI poses to vulnerable populations, and share resources for continued learning.

Following the program, participants are invited to stay for lunch and discussion. Please RSVP below to indicate your interest in attending the workshop and lunch.

This program is supported by the Bernadette Callery Archives Lecture Series, the Sara Fine Institute, and the University Center for Social & Urban Research.
