DESCRIPTION:As part of the Aging Institute's Research Seminar Series\, Spen
 cer Freeman\, PhD\, who is an Assistant Professor\, Department of Biochemi
 stry and Interim Program Head of Cell 7 Ssytems Biology at the Hospital fo
 r Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto\, Canana will present “Mechanoresi
 lience and metabolism of Lysosomes as Orchestrated by Ion Transport”. \n
 \n \n\nA central part of the Aging Institute (AI) Bridgeside Point mission
  is to promote innovative research in aging and a rich environment for tra
 ining a new generation of investigators in the aging field.  Beyond indivi
 dualized mentorship\, we want to provide support in career development\, p
 resentation skills\, grant writing and opportunities for collaboration and
  networking with researchers within and outside the University.\n\n \n\nTh
 e research seminars will be followed by a gathering to stimulate informal 
 discussions\, socialization and networking.  All postdocs are highly encou
 raged to attend this event to allow informal interaction with faculty and 
 familiarize postdocs with the non-scientific skills required to pursue and
  succeed in an academic career.
